Our Fight Against COVID-19

When the World Stopped, We Kept Moving

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to its knees. Streets emptied, businesses closed, and fear gripped every heart. But at ABCD Foundation, we knew this was the time our community needed us most. While others stayed home, our volunteers stepped forward to serve.

Our COVID-19 Relief Work

Emergency Food Distribution

Lockdowns left thousands of daily wage workers without income. Families went hungry with no way to earn. We immediately launched our emergency food distribution program across Andhra Pradesh. Our volunteers worked day and night, delivering food packets and ration kits door-to-door to families who had nothing to eat.

We distributed thousands of ration kits containing rice, dal, oil, and essential groceries. Every kit helped a family survive another month during those dark days.

Medical Support and Healthcare

When hospitals were overwhelmed and people were afraid to seek treatment, we stood by them. We provided:

  • Free medical consultations through phone helplines
  • Essential medicines delivered to homes
  • Oxygen concentrators and medical equipment for emergency cases
  • COVID-19 awareness materials and safety kits

Our health workers visited communities to educate people about symptoms, prevention, and when to seek help. We distributed thousands of masks, sanitizers, and hygiene kits to protect vulnerable families.

Support for Migrant Workers

Migrant workers faced the worst crisis. Stranded far from home with no work, no money, and no food, they were desperate. ABCD Foundation became their lifeline.

We set up temporary shelters providing safe accommodation, food, and medical care. We coordinated with authorities to help workers reach their homes safely. We provided travel assistance, food for the journey, and basic necessities.

Support for Children’s Education

Schools closed, but learning couldn’t stop. We knew poor children had no access to online classes. We worked to bridge this gap:

  • Distributed study materials and books to students’ homes
  • Organized small group learning sessions following safety protocols
  • Provided mobile phones and learning devices to needy students
  • Conducted special classes for children who fell behind

Mental Health and Counseling

The pandemic brought fear, anxiety, and trauma. Families lost loved ones. People lost jobs and hope. We provided counseling support through our dedicated team, offering comfort and guidance during the darkest hours.

Our Volunteers: The Real Heroes

Our volunteers risked their own health and safety every single day. They wore masks, maintained distance, but never stopped serving. They visited containment zones when others feared to go. They worked 18-hour shifts without complaint. They became family to thousands who had no one else.

By the Numbers

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ABCD Foundation:

  • Distributed over 50,000 ration kits to families
  • Provided meals to more than 100,000 people
  • Delivered medical support to thousands of patients
  • Helped hundreds of migrant workers reach home safely
  • Supported thousands of children continue their education
  • Conducted awareness programs in hundreds of villages

The Challenges We Faced

It wasn’t easy. We faced shortage of supplies, restricted movement, fear of infection, and limited resources. But we never gave up. We mobilized donors, coordinated with local authorities, and worked with other organizations to maximize our impact.

Every challenge made us stronger. Every obstacle taught us resilience. Every life we touched gave us more reason to keep going.

Our Gratitude

We could not have done this without our donors who contributed generously even during their own hardships. We thank our volunteers who put service above self. We thank the community leaders who supported our work. We thank the government authorities who helped us reach people faster.

Our Commitment Continues

The pandemic may be over, but its effects continue. Many families still struggle to recover from job losses and debt. Children still need support to catch up on lost learning. We remain committed to helping our community heal and rebuild.

A Message of Hope

COVID-19 taught us that humanity’s strength lies in standing together during crisis. ABCD Foundation proved that compassion never goes into lockdown. When tested, we rose to the challenge. We will continue to serve with the same dedication, ready for whatever challenges tomorrow brings.
